Polymeric sand for paver joints

INSTALLATION
Method of application of XP Polymer Sand for a

NEW PAVER JOB:

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install pavers and compact with a vibrating plate.
2. Make sure that the top surface of the pavers are dry. Sweep the XP Polymer Sand in between the paver joints and then compact use a vibrating plate. Repeat this step 2 at least 2 more times.
3. Sweep off all excess XP Polymer Sand that is on the paver surface. Insure that the
XP Polymer Sand lies at least 1/8 of an inch below the top of the pavers.
4. Using a leaf blower, blow off all the XP Polymer Sand residue lying on the paver surface.
5. Direct a fine mist of water in the air so it will gently land on a certain paver area for 10 to 15 seconds. Wait 3 to 4 minutes and repeat this step 5 with either condition A or B;
A. A maximum of 2 more times.
B. You will stop misting when you see a minimal amount of water retention on the paver joints.

NOTE:

The water used in step 5 will activate a bonding action as well as condense the XP Polymer Sand grains in the joints. Too much water will undo the dense compaction obtained during step 2 and reduce the final performance of the XP Polymer Sand.

Method of application of XP Polymer Sand for an

EXISTING PAVER JOB:
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using a pressure washer, remove all the existing joint filling material from the top of the pavers
to the bottom.

XP Polymer Sand is a unique mixture of polymer binders and a calibrated sand available in Beige or Slate Grey. The installation of XP Polymer Sand is almost identical to using regular paver joint sand, except for the application of water. Once XP Polymer Sand sets, it becomes very firm and locks between the paver joints. This firm bond maintains pavers securely in place, being equally effective on both horizontal and sloped surface.

FOR USE ON
XP Polymer Sand is recommended for a variety of uses, including pool sides, patios, foot paths, driveways, parking spaces, pavements etc…The concrete pavers have to be installed on a drainage bed system composed of 2 layers. The upper layer can have a maximum of 1 inch of either stone dust or bedding sand. The lower layer must have a minimum of 5 inches of crushed stone. (See diagram below)

XP POLYMER SAND COVERAGE
Quantity of XP Polymer Sand required depends on the shape and size of the concrete pavers as well as the width of the joints.

PLEASE NOTE
Do not apply on wet or damp paver surface since bonding action will cause XP Polymer Sand to stick on the paver surface and avoid proper sliding in joints. Do not use if rain is expected within 3 hours. Avoid excessive watering or flooding of paved surfaces. When installing pavers around an underground pool a slope of 1/8 inch per linear foot away from the pool is mandatory. All paver surfaces must have a drainage slope for the XP Polymer Sand to work at its optimum. For the pool coping blocks it is mandatory to use mortar in the joints. For the rest of the paver installation around the pool, you can use XP Polymer Sand.

XP POLYMER SAND IS IDEAL FOR NARROW OR LARGE JOINTS UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 1-1/2 INCH.

NEVER USE XP POLYMER SAND WHEN PAVERS ARE INSTALLED ON A CONCRETE SLAB.
